Last year we had seen the Hankook Ventus Prime3 tires but I hadn’t tested them so I really wanted to fit them on a car and test them on road

today we have here the Hankook Ventus Prime3 and we will fit them on our car before hitting the road

Let’s go!

In order to get to know well this product, I will test it for some hours on different kinds of roads like in town, highway and on different road conditions

how is this tire built? There’s a carcass, a belt and a top compound

The carcass is the lower part, which is the structure of the tire, made in Rayon, allowing to increase the sidewall stiffness and durability of the tire

The belt has been widened, increasing the handling

On the outer layer there’s a high grip silica compound which should increase the stability when turning

Another very important thing is the strong single strand bead wire, meaning an improved uniformity and balance

The outer layer has 3 strong wide tread ribs which result in an enhanced steering precision, which I can feel right now and increased mileage range

After having driven this car for a few miles I must say that the noise level is very low, thanks to the grooves that have been studied for reducing the rolling noise

The groove chamfer spreads the contact patch under braking for a better grip

On top of that there’s a high stiffness bead filler, increasing the handling and the steering response.

I’m traveling at 110 Kp/h in 5th gear, I’ll now use the clutch so that we can hear the rolling of the tires without the noise coming from the engine

the noise is very low, ensuring a good comfort

Here we are on the lakeside, this is a twisty road, so it will allow us to appreciate the steering response

even when driving in a sporty way, going fast when entering turns and trying to correct the trajectory, the Ventus Prime 3 tires still behave in a great way

we were talking about rigidity and increased steering response: this is possible thanks to the stiffness of the Rayon carcass

and thanks to the high stiffness bead filler, which decreases the flexion when turning, increasing the steering feedback

we’re now on a closed road and here I will try the acceleration and the braking performances, in order to test the grip of the Ventus Prime3

even though the road is slippery, since we’re near the lake and near to a quarry, the grip of the tires is impressive

even when braking the grip is great thanks to the tire pattern which has been studied in order to obtain enhanced grip performances when accelerating and when braking, which is very important

these tires feature a VIA system, which stands for Vehicle Alignment Indicators, which give the driver visual cues on wheel alignment changes over time

meaning that they enhance the driving comfort, uneven consumption increase the noise level, a more even tire consumption and a lower fuel consumption

we’re almost back, so I must tell you that we approve the Ventus Prime 3

we’re using a 245/40R18 size

What do I like the most about these tires? Handling, steering precision and grip, which is impressive, more than I thought

If you were expecting a daring new Audi A6, well, you haven’t really been paying attention.

Audi’s styling approach as of late has been as conservative as Austria, and just as with recent redesigns of everything from the TT to the A8, this new model is more similar to its forebear than different.

Yes, this medium-length link of sedan sausage has some new creases and bulges on its fenders, but its evolution is as predictable as a Swiss timepiece.

A nip here and a tuck there and you have a car that, despite its new MLB Evo platform shared with the A7 and the A8, is within half an inch of the old model in every dimension.

Not since the original R8 more than a decade ago has Ingolstadt made any truly bold moves, and anyway, the place to do so is not a model whose prime demographic is German bankers.

Six Is First.

American bankers—or just Americans with bank—will be customers, too, which is why Audi is launching the top-of-the-line V-6–powered A6 first.

This is the same 30-liter powerplant from the new A7 and A8, making 340 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque thanks to a single turbocharger nestled in the cylinder valley in a hot-V setup.

A belt-alternator-starter system with a 48-volt battery beneath the trunk floor enables the engine’s stop/start system, as well as permitting a mileage-improving coasting function that’s omitted from U.S.-market cars.

As in the A7, the sole transmission will be Audi’s seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, which sends power to all four wheels using the latest version of Audi’s Quattro Ultra all-wheel-drive system that electronically disengages the driveshaft under light loads for improved efficiency.

Efficiency, however, is more crucial for lesser A6 models, like the inevitable version with Volkswagen’s corporate turbocharged 20-liter inline-four under the hood.

This one, the V-6, is for people who like to flex their right ankles.

The engine is the most exciting thing about the new car—as it should be—providing instantaneous thrust thanks to a torque curve that’s more of a flat line once you crack the throttle.

It’s eager to rev throughout its powerband, and the dual-clutch gearbox snaps off shifts like a drummer playing rimshots.

The turbo engine may lack some of the character of the supercharged V-6 it replaces, particularly in the A6, where the exhaust sound is absolutely smothered, but it shames the old engine in power and flexibility.

We can’t say the same for the new car’s chassis.

While we’ll reserve judgment until we can actually drive a U.S.-spec A6 on American roads, our brief experience with a European car in Portugal revealed a somewhat stiff ride and the same sort of light and overboosted steering feel endemic to Audis.

All A6 models use a multilink suspension front and rear, and cars sold in the U.S.

will have steel springs and electronically adaptive dampers, with an optional sport suspension that lowers the car by 0.8 inch.

Audi’s familiar Drive Select system varies shock valving, steering response, and transmission shift points through five settings: Efficiency, Comfort, Auto, Dynamic, and Individual.

None of them helped improve steering feedback, which was minimal, even though our test car was wearing high-performance summer rubber on 20-inch wheels rather than the 18- or 19-inch all-season tires we expect to see as standard on U.S.

models.

Europeans will be able to order an A6 with air springs and four-wheel steering, but Americans desiring that hardware will need to step up to the forthcoming S6.

Superfly MMI.

The real attraction for most A6 buyers likely will be a different sort of hardware, namely the new infotainment system that has revolutionized the interior.

While Audi’s Virtual Cockpit digital gauge cluster is no longer so cutting edge—you can get the same thing in a $25,000 Volkswagen Jetta—it is making its first appearance in the A6, alongside the new touchscreen MMI system introduced in the new A8.

The touchscreen replaces nearly every hard button and knob—and the old MMI setup had quite a few of them—with two haptic-feedback touchscreens.

We found touchscreen performance was good but not perfect, although with a little practice we expect we’d better get the hang of “triggering” our finger presses.

The 8.6-inch lower screen displays the HVAC controls or switches to a giant version of the touch-sensitive writing pad Audi introduced years ago.

The 10.1-inch upper screen houses most of the other functions such as navigation and audio, and it is reconfigurable in a multitude of ways, including the particularly useful customization of the five-tile sidebar on the left side of the screen.

Up to seven drivers can save separate profiles of preferences and settings.

The system is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, although we had to reboot our Android phone to coerce it to connect, and the mirrored display on the Audi’s screen appeared pixelated, clearly inferior to the graphics of the car’s built-in system.

MMI also allows owners to program shortcuts—to radio stations, navigation destinations, or phone contacts—that alternately appear on the lower screen.

Overall, the system is intuitive and impressive, but its menus can run deep.

And Audi forbids changing most settings while the car is in motion—including those of the audio system—which is the only glaring flaw we could find in our brief test.

Thankfully, the volume knob has survived.

So, too, has the A6’s traditionally high level of interior finish, with wood inserts and smooth leather paying off the new car’s luxury promise.

The dashboard design may take some getting used to, as the large expanses of piano-black plastic and metal-look trim that frame the touchscreens depart from Audi’s typical minimalism.

(Remember, this is a company that uses nav screens that retract into the dashboards of some models.).

As Audi has yet to ready its U.S.-market order guide ahead of the A6’s appearance this fall, we’re left to speculate about which features from Europe-market cars we’ll see here, from driver-assistance systems to remote self-parking to the “always online” navigation system that uses cloud data to inform the car.

That goes for pricing, too.

Regardless of the final specification, the A6’s new bones—both those under the hood and under the dash—are impressive, even if you might have to park the old car alongside it to recognize its new skin.

so today I&039;m going to be installing some eBay fog light covers on my

2006 WRX and they seem to be pretty good quality and the paint matches really well

So let&039;s get to installing them and see what they look like

So here are the fog light covers you could see that they come painted already

Again I got them off eBay super easy to install

all we gotta do is

Take a little tool. I have this little plastic tool for like car stereos and stuff. So it doesn&039;t scratch anything

Here and pop it out pull this out like that take the cover

Didn&039;t like this kind of hard to do with one hand

Make sure the tabs go in on the side over here push it back and then it&039;ll just snap into place

So as you could see that was a super easy

This Rugged Ridge Body Armor Rocker side panel kit is for those of you that have a two-door

2007 and up JK, and are looking for a piece to add some protection to that rocker area,

as well as to make it look a little bit more finished off.

Now, this is obviously a plastic piece, it&039;s not steel.

It&039;s not going to protect you against rocks, but it is going to protect against some scratching,

especially if you have a set of side steps where you&039;re getting in and out of the Jeep,

and the toe of your boot or shoe is constantly hitting that rocker area, this is going to

add some protection.

This is also going to be a piece that installs very, very easily.

Definitely, a one out of three wrench installation, probably less than an hour to do.

We&039;ll talk more about that in just a second.

So, even though these are more of an appearance piece at first look, they are going to offer

some protection against scratching, as I mentioned, and they&039;re also going to make the side of

the Jeep look a lot more finished.

Now, the pinch seam from the factory has some holes drilled in it, it doesn&039;t look all that

finished off, so this is going to help to change up the look of your Jeep and add some

protection.

So, I do think it&039;s a really nice dual purpose piece, all for a pretty fair price.

These are gonna pair really well with a lot of your tubular side steps that you can install

on your Jeep, just adding to that look, and again, giving you a really finished look and

some added functionality.

These are going to be made of a UV-treated thermoplastic material.

Of course, they have this diamond plate pattern molded right into it.

Now, Rugged Ridge does have another version of a piece like this that doesn&039;t have the

diamond plate.

It&039;s a little bit more substantial, it&039;s also going to be almost double the cost.

So, these are going to give you that diamond-plate pattern, be a little bit less bulky.

So, if that&039;s what you&039;re going for, this is going to be the better option from Rugged

Ridge.

Like I said, these install very, very easily.

They come with some pre-applied 3M adhesive on the back side, and they are also going

to use some nut and bolt hardware through existing holes in the pinch seam, so there&039;s

no drilling to do.

So, to get these installed, again, one out of three wrenches, less than an hour to get

the install finished up.

The most important thing about installing anything on your Jeep with 3M adhesive is

that the surface area is very clean before you attach the adhesive.

So, you wanna hold these up to the side of your Jeep, see where that 3M is gonna make

contact with the paint, and clean that area with a good alcohol-based cleaner well before

you get started.

Once you get that done, it&039;s a good idea to start all of the nut and bolt hardware through

the pinch seam.

And then, you can peel up the corner of your 3M adhesive strips, make sure everything is

sitting where you want it to, peel back that adhesive, and then give a little bit of pressure

to get this seated exactly where you want it.

Once you&039;re finished with that, these are going to stay exactly where you put them for

a good long time.

But, if you ever did wanna remove them, you can simply do that without having any lasting

effects on the Jeep.

These come in at right around $90 which, again, I do think is gonna be pretty good price.

You&039;re gonna get some form and some function out of these, you&039;re gonna finish off the

pinch seam, you&039;re gonna add some protection against scratching, so I do think they&039;re

a pretty good deal.

Now, if you are looking for a little bit more protection, something that&039;s a little bit

bigger, a little bit bulkier, there is another version of these by Rugged Ridge at almost

double the cost.

But, again, you&039;re getting more material there, and you&039;re also gonna get a little bit more

protection.

So, it really comes down to what you want on your Jeep.

For what you&039;re getting here, I do think that the $90 price tag is fair.

So, if you&039;re looking for some plastic rocker protection to finish off the look of your

Jeep and add some scratch protection, I would definitely recommend taking a look at this

option from Rugged Ridge, and you can find it right here at extremeterrain.com.

What&039;s going on guys today I&039;m going to be trying to clear up a little bit of

confusion on how to calibrate the speedometer on the 2018 Jeep Wrangler

when you&039;ve put oversized tires on it.

Today we&039;re gonna go over how to calibrate that speedometer for those

oversized tires so let&039;s go ahead and get started, now today I&039;m gonna go over

how the dealership can actually recalibrate your speedometer yes the

dealership can recalibrate your speedometer they may not know that they

can but I&039;m telling you they can. So Jeep has said that basically your speedometer

needs to be calibrated for 33 plus-size tires now what you may not know is the

dealership can actually recalibrate the speedometer even if you change the rear

axle ratio or the transfer case ratio. Now this is something a lot of people

don&039;t know about so basically this is How it&039;s gonna go down you&039;re gonna

either make an appointment with your dealer or roll in. What&039;s gonna happen is

you&039;re gonna find someone that knows how to create a Mopar vehicle protection

plan and I&039;ve no idea why they&039;re doing it through this way but basically

whoever writes the the service contracts it&039;s actually gonna go through that it&039;s

actually not a service contract that&039;s just the way they&039;re forcing you to go

through them to get it configured. Okay so you got to find out first is someone

who can write the plan all right so after that is done they basically go in

put your VIN number in your name all that jazz and then they&039;re gonna choose

whether you&039;re upgrading your tires upgrading your differential or I&039;m sorry

changing your differential ratio or your transfer case ratio so what they&039;ll do

then is it can be one of three you can you can choose just one of those or you

can choose three of them whatever changes you&039;ve made they can change it

there okay so let&039;s say thirty sevens on it and you put fourteen fourteen gears

in it or you just put 37 s on or thirty fives I think 35 is somewhere around two

mile an hour difference so that&039;s probably gonna be the

popular one so I said we put 30,000 make you in they type in what size the tire

is they hit submit you paid $125 okay technician takes it back to the back he

does a reconfiguration on the VIN number boom now the speedometer is calibrated

for 35 sighs 35 tires or whatever you have told them to change now if you need

to if you upgrade later on okay to let&039;s say you put it back or you upgrade to a

different size our bigger tire you do not have to pay the extra hundred

twenty-five dollars again you just go back in there and then just ask them to

change it okay a lot of people don&039;t know about this or there&039;s a lot of

confusion on it I hope this helps guys it shouldn&039;t take too long to do it at

the dealership I hope this clears up a lot of you know

confusion on what the dealer can and can&039;t do but that is what the dealer can

do they can do the tire size you know 33 plus is what the document says so I

don&039;t know how far they can go up and different actual ratios and transfer

case ratios alright guys so this is the actual PDF that is sent out by Jeep

Jeep Wrangler Rugged Ridge Black 4-Piece Interior Upgrade Kit (2010-2018 JK) Review – Duration: 3:14.

This Rugged Ridge Black 5-Piece Interior Upgrade Kit is for those of you that have a 2010 and

up JK that are looking to add a little bit of additional functionality to your Jeep.

This is gonna be a kit of five pieces that are going to be very, very easy to install

from Rugged Ridge, and all of them, like I said before, will add some functionality,

whether we&039;re talking about the grab handles, the organizers for the sun visors or the sunglass

holder that we have here right in the middle.

That easy installation is definitely gonna be a one out of three wrench install.

Less than 10 minutes to get all of these things installed.

They&039;re all just gonna Velcro onto your support cage or onto your sun visors, but we&039;ll talk

little bit more about that in just a second.

In your JK, even in a big 4-door JK, you have a lot of room but you don&039;t have a lot of

organization for some smaller items.

That&039;s where these three pieces are really gonna come in, though.

Sun visors are gonna give you spots for pens, pencils, little pieces of paperwork, whatever

it might be, you&039;re gonna have little spots to put all of that stuff so it&039;s not just

floating around on the interior.

In the middle, here, is going to be your sunglass holder that&039;s gonna hold everything nice and

secure.

Make sure it&039;s in the same spot every time.

When you take them off, you&039;re gonna know exactly where to find them and you&039;re not

gonna end up sitting on them, which is something that I end up doing inadvertently from time

to time.

Then, over here is going to be a set of grab handles, and those grab handles are gonna

make it easier for you and your passengers to get in and out of your Jeep and also give

you something to hang onto when you&039;re bumping down those bumpy trails.

These five pieces are all available individually from Rugged Ridge, and buying them as a kit

like this isn&039;t necessarily going to save you a lot of money.

However, you are able to just buy one item, get all five pieces to fully outfit your interior.

All five pieces of this kit are roughly made up of the same types of material.

It&039;s gonna be a lot of vinyl and a lot of nylon.

The materials are designed to hold up really well, be nice and strong and do exactly what

they&039;re designed to do, either organizing or being a nice strong grab handle.

Now, when you&039;re talking about grab handles, having one like this that attaches with three

straps to the support cage and also has a nice hard rubber handle makes it feel nice

and secure, as secure as you can get for a fabric grab handle.

Of course, if you upgrade to a metal grab handle, a little more expensive, harder to

install, but also a little bit more secure.

But this fabric grab handle really goes with the theme of all of these fabric Velcro-on

accessory pieces.

Like I said, 1 out of 3 wrenches for the installation, less than 10 minutes to get this installed.

Everything&039;s gonna Velcro right in place, whether it&039;s over the sun visors or around

your support cage.

All you have to do is undo the Velcro, put it through the plastic loops like there are

here for the grab handles.

If not, you just go right around the support cage.

These you&039;re gonna un-Velcro, put them right over the sun visor, Velcro them shut again.

Very, very easy install, no tools necessary.

This whole kit, all five pieces, comes in at right around $100 which I think is gonna

be a pretty good price when you&039;re looking at the functionality, the features and the

quality of build that you get with this kit.
